A pin vice is a useful tool for anyone who works with small scale miniatures, models or jewellery.
These vices have an adjustable collet for holding the work piece or are often used as miniature drills, holding very small drill bits for drilling insertion holes for piercing saws or fret saws for jewellery and woodworking. They may also be used to hold square or half round wire or to create decorative twisted wire, hold small diamond bits, files or reamers for sanding or working on carvings in both metal and wood. Highly adaptable, a pin vice may be used to hold small metal or wooden items still for operations like sanding and polishing.
