The BL1850B 18V 5.0 Ah Li-ion LXT battery has a 4 stage LED battery fuel gauge indicator, works with current Li-ion chargers and has a 45 minute charge time on both Makita DC18RC and DC18RD chargers, and a 110 minute charge time on Makita DC18SD charger. Lightweight, weighing no more than a 3.0 Ah Li-ion LXT battery, has a longer run time and battery life.

Multi-contact terminals reduce electrical resistance and increase connection stability, withstanding against vibration and ultimately to ensure a current supply to the tool. The BL1850B can be charged at any time, has no memory effect and no discharging is required.

The Li-ion range is both lightweight and shock absorbing. It can deliver up to 430% more working capacity during its lifetime, compared to Ni-Cad, and is 40% lighter than Ni-MH. The Li-ion battery has minimal depletion of power during use or in storage over its lifetime.
