Clarke MMA140 140 Amp ARC/MMA Inverter Welder (230V)

The Clarke MMA140 provides a perfect blend of quality construction, power and control that makes it ideal for DIY and garage use. Ultra-light with a weight of less than 5kg, the MMA140 is ideal for portable use and provides superior quality ARC welding.

Because of the versatility & simplicity of MMA welding, it requires less skill & is used primarily to weld iron and steels (including stainless steel) of up to 5mm but nickel and copper can also be welded with this method. This model is ideal for use for home, garage or mobile repairs thanks to its lightweight design.

This welder can output between 20 and 140A with an input voltage of 230V/50Hz. MMA/ARC welding uses a coated consumable electrode (stick) to lay the weld; therefore an additional welding kit is not required. The arc melts the core of the electrode to produce drops of molten metal (weld pool) that cool to create the weld joint.

This model has inverter technology that has a high switching frequency, allowing the welder to be more efficient than non-inverter transformer-type welders. It also has a large current control knob to allow for easy usage when wearing welding gloves. A clear digital display also shows the variable output current.

Advanced functions of this welder include built-in Hot Start, which eases striking the arc; Arc Force, which gives a temporary increase of the output current if the arc turns too short; and Anti Stick, which switches off the power source if the electrode sticks to the material. To enhance operator safety the welder also incorporates a Voltage Reduction Safety Device, also known as Anti-Shock, where the output voltage is automatically reduced when the welder is not in use.

The MMA140 requires a 16 Amp 230 Volt supply and is supplied with an electrode holder, earth clamp, weld return cable plus a fixed carry handle; making it excellent value for money.
