Makita's powerful 3-speed 18v cordless combi hammer drill is powered by long-lasting Lithium-ion batteries which, typically, are 40% lighter than a similar Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) battery. Li-Ion power packs also feature a high energy density technology that will deliver 430% more working capacity during their lifetime (compared to traditional Ni-Cad batteries), hold charge for much longer - even after a prolonged period of storage - and don't develop the same 'memory effect' which affects NiCD batteries.
